How GoldenRod Works

GoldenRod® heats to a surface temperature of less than 150° F (which is almost too warm to hold) and circulates warm, dry air throughout an enclosure on a 24 hour basis. This increases the temperature of the air inside to several degrees above the ambient outside temperature. Expansion of the heated air forces the moist air outside through the vents or loose fitting doors leaving the dry air inside.

Installation Instructions
Installation is simple. Attach the universal bracket using the stainless screws supplied with the unit and snap the GoldenRod® in place into the bracket. GoldenRod® must be mounted horizontally at the bottom of an enclosure to work effectively. It can be mounted as a freestanding application or brackets may be attached to a vertical wall. GoldenRod® MUST always be mounted horizontally in order to work correctly.

Safe
Safety is important for any form of dehumidifier left working in any unattended area. The GoldenRod® Dehumidifier is the safest on the market. Unlike a light bulb that many people leave burning and hanging over a hook, the GoldenRod® mounts securely into place so it will not swing or fall, possibly breaking and causing a fire. Unlike a light bulb that creates intense heat in a concentrated ball, the GoldenRod® distributes heat evenly over the length of the Rod. The light bulb uses 7 to 100 watts. This not only generates a possible fire risk, but is also very expensive. The GoldenRod®, with a maximum power of 38 watts, generates the necessary heat without ever coming close to the flash point of paper or plastic and does its job for just pennies a day. Some people use a space heater which usually operates between 1200 to 1500 watts. This generates excessive heat and is an expensive operation. The GoldenRod®, with its even heating, saves the risk and cost of fire as well as saving money.

The GoldenRod® is available with a removable plug for instances that require the wire to be routed through a wall, partition or cabinet. Following the instructions, just remove the plug, push the wire through the hole and reassemble the plug on the other side.

Running Cost of the GoldenRod® Dehumidifiers

With the smallest GoldenRod® running at 8 watts (100 cubic feet) and the largest at 38 watts (500 cubic feet) GoldenRod® dehumidifiers cost a fraction of other electric methods. It literally amounts to pennies a day!

Guarantee!

GoldenRod® has a Lifetime Guarantee. Plug it in and forget about it! UL listed and made in the USA.

Special Note About Gun Lockers & Gun Safes:

GoldenRod® was designed to handle the worst kinds of humidity problems which can take place in a gun locker or safe.

The guns above the rinstalled rod are being bathed in constantly warm, dry air as the GoldenRod® mounted horizontally at the bottom of the safe functions 24 hours a day. Air that is warmed by the GoldenRod® rises up through the guns and is replaced by cool air creating a constant cycle of air movement.

In the process, the temperature of the metal parts in the guns are increased slightly (about 3 degrees) -just enough to eliminate the tendency of cold metal to condense moisture of the damp air. Wood parts are maintained at a warmth level that discourages moisture from building up embedding and other metal-to-wood contact areas. These are the most vulnerable to rust, corrosion, and pitting. They are also the most difficult to detect in a routine gun inspection. With the GoldenRod® on guard, this condition is eliminated. GoldenRod® is the safest method of controlling and eliminating dampness. Plug it in and forget about it.
FAQ's

What size GoldenRod® do I need?
Since you can't overprotect your valuables, we strongly recommend using the longest GoldenRod® which will fit in an area and use multiple units where necessary.

How do I figure the cubic feet in the area I need to protect?
Multiply the length by the width by the height (L x W x H = cubic feet). Say, for example, you have a cabinet that stands 6 feet tall, is 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. 6 x 4 x 2 = 48 cubic feet which would be amply served by the 12 inch GoldenRod®.

How does GoldenRod® work?
GoldenRod® heats to a surface temperature of less than 150 degrees (which is almost too warm to hold) and circulates warm, dry air throughout an enclosure on a 24 hour basis. Using a drill and screwdriver, just attach the universal brackets using the enclosed screws. Then snap the GoldenRod® in place into the brackets. The GoldenRod® MUST be mounted horizontally at the bottom of an enclosure to work effectively.

I purchased a very expensive motorcycle last month and I live near the beach. You can mount a GoldenRod® horizontally on a 2x4, slip it under your bike when the bike cover is on and the GoldenRod® will keep the air under the cover (as well as your bike) moisture free.

The Highest Quality and Most Reliable Unit on the Market
Now GoldenRod® has the solution for the price conscious shopper.
