Limited edition exclusive version of the Spyderco Techno 2. An exclusive is a special configuration of an established Spyderco model that is produced for a single customer. This remarkable expression of the Techno 2 was specially manufactured for the Fradon Lock Company and is available only through their sales channels.
The first defining feature of this elite knife is its blade, which is crafted from Uddeholm Elmax SuperClean steel. This advanced material is a high chromium-vanadium-molybdenum-alloyed steel renowned for offering a unique combination of high wear resistance and excellent corrosion resistance. While these two properties are extremely desirable in knife blades, achieving both with a single steel is challenging. Emax's highly refined allow chemistry does this exceptionally well and is further enhanced by Uddeholm's powder-metallurgy-based production process.
To take full advantage of Elmax's remarkable properties, the PlainEdge blade of this elite knife has a high saber grind and a handsome stonewashed finish that ensure outstanding edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance.
The other remarkable feature of this elite knife is its handle, which features a stunning black "Dark Matter" fatcarbon carbon fiber scale on the obverse or show side and a solid titanium scale on the reverse side. The carbon fiber scales contains a nested stainless steel liner and the titanium scale is meticulously machined to create the knife's high strength Reeve Integral (R.I.L.) mechanism. They are joined by blue anodized titanium standoffs and include machined pockets to mount a reversible deep-pocket wire clip, which provides a choice of left or right tip-up carry.
